This week’s video is a stop-action clip of Beth Cavener building this inverted wolf.

Using an armature and 600 pounds of clay, it’s filmed over the course of three days. The completed piece is seen here in this photograph. As I understand it, she finishes work like this with Martha Stewart flat interior latex paint. Apparently it’s high in kaolin, resulting in a surface similar to the look and feel of clay. Ms. Cavener is one of my heros. Her work is incredible. ∆
