What’s that about?
I get this weird thrill when I browse through fonts. It doesn’t even matter if I’m actually going to use them or not. I just dig looking at different typefaces and letterforms.

I could just leave it alone, but I wonder, what’s going on there? Why are fonts like eye candy to me? The letters themselves aren’t that exciting. It’s not like I’m watching cat videos on YouTube. I find cat videos on YouTube hard to resist.
There must be something that explains why letters are so compelling. I wonder if it’s rooted in some deep, lizard-brain mix of creativity, cognition, and language. I can’t figure it out, though. I’m just not smart enough. All I know is that I’ve heard all of the arguments, and I still think Comic Sans is gross. ∆
