I’m rarely satisfied with my work. Initially, I might be excited about how something is turning out, but almost as soon as it’s done, I’m usually dissatisfied with the results. There’s always room for improvement. That’s normal, I suppose, but the time between “This is awesome” and “I can do better” has gotten much shorter. It used to be days or weeks between those highs and lows. Lately, it’s maybe an hour.
I don’t mind it too much. It drives my wife nuts, though. For me, it simply means I can do better and I have high standards. I’m ok with that.
